The 1876 Ontario County directory is an extremely valuable resource for locating the exact location of your ancestors, especially those in the townships, where Concession and Lot number are given. Town and village directories usually show street addresses. Examination of these directories often gives valuable clues as to family relationships, where properties are close to each other.
Townships with your pioneer ancestors names and locations recorded include Brock, Mara, Pickering, Reach, Scott, Thorah, Rama, Scugog, Uxbridge, East Whitby and Whitby.
